Painter of the Gendarmerie

My passion in the service of the Gendarmerie

Army painters are "official" artists recognized by the
Ministry of the Armed Forces are selected to be those who will represent
the institution in an artistic form. In 2020, the Gendarmerie
national seizes the opportunity to approve its own painters, sculptors
and photographers to become its ambassadors in the artistic world.
The jury of the competition, which was held on September 16, 2020, selected 11
artists, to be approved by the Minister of the Armed Forces, and obtain the
title of "painter of the armies - gendarmerie"

Our missions

Approved for three renewable years or holders after at least nine years, they are required to exhibit at least one work at each Salon des peintres des armées.

They can use all drawing and painting techniques, but also present a sculpture or a photograph. They can propose a work or create one following a commission from the Institution.

They thus become witnesses, through their artistic production, of the activity of the Institution and of the women and men who serve there.
